Our Team of Stylists

Ginger Thompson

Truly born in this business, Ginger Thompson was raised in a salon. "I was a Child Prodigy, with a great support of hairdresser mentors." Now the Owner of Nolas Salon, Ginger has travled that oh so familiar road of many stylist. "Learning that the grass was not greener on the other side was a tough one for me." Now into her 25th year in this industry, Ginger has learned to relax and let the client dictate their needs, and wants. Her ability to adapt to most types of Hair, has created the well rounded Stylist that she is today. Ginger looks at hair as a whole, meaning your attitude, lifestyle and effort really dictate your final look. "I never claim to be the best, but everyday you can be sure I'm going to give it my all." In 2007 Nolas was opened on a dream to create the ultimate salon for stylists. Ginger knows from experience how well the outcome will be when others play well together! Ginger was licensed in 1987 at the age of 15, then in less than 6 months earned her teachers license. "Telling others usually oder than you how to do a cut or color was a challenge but I soon learned I had a lot to share and found it fun and rewarding." Ginger went on to attend dozens of hair shows and has competed in a few as well as taught on stage. "Know your audience", has always been her creed. Whether the audience is 1 or 500, she gives her full energy and talent.

Nadine

Whether the look you are trying to achieve is very simple and classic or completely retro and funky, Nadine will go out of her way to accommodate your every desire. But, if the look does not fit you or your lifestyle, she is not scared to tell you so and will help you discover an alternative route. She understands people are picky about the hair. After her honest opinion you still feel like you want that certain look, she will accommodate that. Nadine will do what you want even if she feels it is not right for you (but she will definitely be honest!) In beauty school they teach only four haircuts. The key to being a great hair dresser is knowing how to adjust these cuts and styles to emphasize the client's good features and minimize their flaws. Nadine refuses to let anyone leave without a smile on their face. After doing hair for six years and working with some well-known hairdressers has made her become very diverse. She can address everyone's needs - from little old lady roller sets to teenage emo, punky styles. Color would be a definite strong point. Reds are certainly her favorite, as she strongly advertises with her own hair. Blondes are also very appealing to her. Whether they are golden, honey, caramel or ash, she will find what is right for you. She loves working with curly hair... unless she is the one who has to make it curly!

Lauren Sellers Clark

A true SC native, Lauren Sellers Clark, lived in the Mt. Pleasant area until her recent relocation to the Summerville area (which she loves!). Her diverse skill set will amaze you as she is just as comfortable with mohawks & dreads as she is with more "standard" looks. A true artist Lauren has trained under several high-end "artisans" of the trade, most notable, Lava Salon, in the St. Andrews district of West Ashley. Blondes & men's cuts, well any cuts top her list of fave services!!! With all of the training, Lauren has you would think she would only do certain preferred treatments. Not Lauren! She is comfortable and at home doing rolls, color, and even perms! "I believe that every client who I educate on their hair is another client that will return. I believe first and foremost in healthy hair, but that doesn't mean outlawing chemicals, just means using them properly. If a client understands their own hair it makes their own life easier, because anyone can achieve a great look on a day 2 day basis." Come by Nolas to experience the best in traditional, yet cutting-edge treatments one can only learn by working with Charleston's best.
